Facts:
There are a number of specialties which qualify surgeons to perform Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Facial plastic surgeons have unique, specialized training that focuses solely on the face, head, and neck.

They first complete a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery which gives them board certification by the American Board of Medical Subspecialties to practice Facial Plastic Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery. Expert specialists, like Dr. Meier, then compete for one of the coveted Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowships. This is a full-year program offering a unique opportunity to study with one of the AAFPRS’s master surgeons and is dedicated solely to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck.

Facial Plastic Surgeons then sit for a second two-day board examination given by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Meier passed the board examination with the third highest score that year. Only surgeons previously certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and/or the American Board of Otolaryngology may be certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Successful Facial Plastic Surgery is a result of good communication between patient and surgeon. Trust, based on realistic expectations and exacting medical expertise, develops in the consulting stages before surgery. Dr. Meier would be pleased to see you in a consultation in order to answer all of your questions and individually address your specific aesthetic needs or concerns. A Facial Plastic Surgeon, such as Dr. Meier, limits their practice to the face, head, and neck. Their background in Head and Neck Surgery and subspecialty training in Facial Plastic Surgery gives them a unique knowledge of the face and its underlying structures, which is why you should trust the skill, expertise, and artistry of a Facial Plastic Surgeon.

Dr. Meier and his team are committed to making your experience the best it can be. Do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions you might have.
