Botox and Dysport
FDA-approved Botox has become a mainstay in the treatment of "wrinkles in motion", those wrinkles that appear only when you move your face. Dr. Meier uses Botox®, a muscle relaxant, to treat crow's feet around the eyes, the forehead and frown lines, and the banding that can occur in the neck. A few days after injection, wrinkles and creases are smoothed out. Consistent use of Botox can also prevent new deep wrinkles and avoid the etched-in lines that are sometimes visible. Typically, results last about 4 months. Some patients on a regular maintenance program report going as long as six months before needing another treatment.
Excessive underarm, palm and foot sweating can be a socially and/or professionally embarrassing problem. Individuals who have failed both over-the-counter antiperspirants as well as prescription-based formulations may be eligible for Botox therapy. Dr. Meier specializes in facial and underarm sweating therapy using Botox with results lasting between 4 to 6 months. After a detailed one-on-one consultation, Dr. Meier will assess your candidacy for therapy.
For your Botox session for underarm sweating, you should not use any topical antiperspirant for 24 hours prior to coming to the office and avoid any exercise or hot drinks for at least an hour before your arrival. Also, if your session will include treatment of your underarms, you should be prepared to wear an old T-shirt that you don't mind soiling.

Dysport is a simple and effective, non-surgical procedure that works like Botox by relaxing those unwanted fine lines and wrinkles due to muscle motion. It is composed of a purified protein very similar to the protein in Botox.
It has been approved for cosmetic use in Europe since 2001 and has been used extensively there. Recently, it was approved by the FDA for use in the United States for cosmetic use in the glabellar (frown) lines between the eyes. Dysport’s effectiveness and how long it lasts are very similar to Botox in the clinical trial studies. Due to Dr. Meier’s extensive experience in both Botox and Dysport treatment, he has become an expert certified trainer for Medicis the company that produces Dysport.
Dr. Meier believes that this product will be a very popular option in treatment much like Botox. He looks forward to discussing your options in facial rejuvenation.
